Personal Protection Order
A personal protection order (PPO) is a court order that protects you from being harassed, assaulted, molested, wounded, or stalked. The PPO prohibits a named individual from doing these things and prohibits the named individual from entering your premises and removing your children, unless there is a court order.

How to File
To obtain a PPO, you must go to the Wayne County City-County building, in downtown Detroit, at Woodward and Jefferson. Hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. For more information call (313) 224-6262.

You may pick up a copy of the do-it-yourself PPO packet from the Police Department. You must follow the instructions carefully when filling out the forms. It will need to be filed downtown Detroit at the Wayne County Clerk's Office.  Information regarding the process is included in the packet.  The process takes about 1/2 day to complete so plan accordingly.  Information will then be forwarded to a judge for further consideration.
